Washington, D.C. – Last week, Senator Ron Johnson hosted a roundtable with Milwaukee’s Hispanic Community. Senator Johnson heard from the community on their biggest concerns leading up to this year’s midterm election. Those concerns included the economy, their children’s education, and the opioid crisis. Hispanic voters are rejecting the Democrats’ radical agenda, support school choice and want a good economy where they can work hard and provide for their families.
During the roundtable, Senator Ron Johnson said, “Republicans want to have a very large tent. What policies we want to promote are the policies that work for everyone, we all want the same thing: to raise a family in safety and with opportunities.”
Ramon Orozco, a local Business owner said, “As a business owner I’m so worried about inflation and rising prices, it’s hard for us to keep feeding people at our restaurant. We’ve survived because of the support of the local community but we’re all hurting.”
Lauro Rodríguez, a retired Marine with two young daughters said, “I’m worried about my kids and our family being forced to have to take decisions we don’t want because we don’t behave in the way government wants. I’m concerned about our freedoms.”
Statement from NRSC Spokesman Juan Arias: “Our country is facing some very challenging times thanks to the Democrats’ failed radical agenda, which is directly impacting Hispanic communities. It is wonderful to see Senator Ron Johnson hosting this roundtable in Milwaukee to learn more on how we can better serve the Hispanic community. We are committed to winning back the Senate majority this November, so we have a congress that works for every family and community, not just Democrat special interest groups.”
