Washington, D.C. – Last week, the Biden Administration announced they had plans to remove the Colombian rebel group FARC from its list of foreign terrorist organizations. It’s a dangerous idea to even consider, but not surprising for an administration that has been weak when it comes to foreign policy.

Since then, we have been waiting to hear from Senate hopeful Congresswoman Val Demings on where she stands on the issue. As a candidate looking to represent Florida and its significant Colombian population, one would think she would be more well-versed on matters of interest to many Floridians. Senator Marco Rubio has been very clear about his opposition to this dangerous move.

Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Priscilla Ivasco: “It’s been 5 days since the Biden Administration removed FARC’s terrorism designation and still nothing from Val Demings. While Senator Rubio is taking charge, Demings’ silence is deafening. She is showing Floridians exactly what kind of leader she would be – weak.”
