Washington, D.C. – State Senator Jeff Jackson has affectionately earned the nickname “Cal Jr.”, a fitting comparison to failed North Carolina Senate Candidate Cal Cunningham Jr. Well, this week, the Washington Post has equated his candidacy to another perennial failure, Beto O’Rourke.
Beto, currently, is busy toying with the foolhardy idea of running for Governor of Texas while hyping up the recent ill-conceived political stunt of Texas House Democrats as an attempt to raise money for his own PAC. Classy!
The Jackson/Beto comparison is, however, a good one. Beto and his viability in Texas was all a media concoction, as was his attempt to run for President. Sen. Jackson’s candidacy is much of the same, based on the mold of Cal Cunningham. As Jackson is pushed further to the Left by his primary opponents, his visions of victory will fade faster than those of Beto.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Jeff Jackson fancies himself as Beto Jr. We at the NRSC love that and encourage him, and the press, to continue comparing himself to candidates who wasted obscene amounts of money only to lose convincingly. We would say aim higher, but that comparison actually seems just about right.”
