Debbie Stabenow just voted to oppose Gina Haspel’s nomination to be the first woman to lead the CIA.

Just weeks after attempting to block Mike Pompeo’s nomination to be Secretary of State, Stabenow has doubled-down on her commitment to the far-left coastal elites by voting to jeopardize national security once again. Even though Gina Haspel’s confirmation received broad, bipartisan support and was even backed by the highest ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Mark Warner, Stabenow decided to side with her progressive base in an attempt to leave one of the country’s most important national security positions vacant.

“President Trump won Michigan in 2016 and yet Debbie Stabenow has opposed his agenda at every opportunity,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “Opposing Haspel’s eminently qualified nomination is yet another example of Stabenow’s decision to play partisan games in Washington – and Michiganders deserve better than that.”
