Fracking Supports Thousands of PA Jobs
Washington, D.C. – According to FOX News, recently uncovered posts show that PA Senate candidate John Fetterman previously signed pledges to supporting an outright ban on fracking in Pennsylvania and new fossil fuel leasing nationwide, which supports tens of thousands of PA jobs.
Overall, the fossil fuel industry in Pennsylvania supports about 50,547 jobs, a 2021 report published by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection showed. Pennsylvania is the second-largest producer of natural gas in the U.S. behind only Texas, according to the Energy Information Administration. Driven largely by its natural gas production and power plant generation, Pennsylvania is the largest electricity exporter in the country.
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “John Fetterman has a consistent record of opposing fracking and wanting to ban it. He even went so far as to say fracking is a ‘stain’ on the state of Pennsylvania! Fracking is an important part of Pennsylvania’s way of life and banning fracking would cost hardworking Pennsylvanians their jobs. The Keystone State deserves a leader who will protect their jobs and way of life.”
