He Failed to Preside Over PA’s Senate 33% Of the Time, But Attended Every Pardons Board Meeting
Washington, D.C. – Fetterman’s priorities are pretty clear. He failed to preside over 33% of the state’s Senate legislative sessions as lieutenant governor but holds a perfect attendance record as chairman of the state’s Board of Pardons.
As Chairman of the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons, Fetterman sought to use his powers as Lt. Governor to “Get as many folks out” as possible, he supports eliminating mandatory minimum sentences for those convicted of second-degree murder and wants to make it easier for prisoners to get out of jail by lowering the vote threshold by the Board of Pardons to a simple majority.

Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “Just take a look at Fetterman’s record – his top priority will always be his liberal stances on crime. He chose to attend every meeting to pardon Pennsylvania’s criminals and skipped out on the ones discussing other priorities in the state. Fetterman wants to release 1/3 of all Pennsylvania prisoners and pardon violent criminals and murderers. He cannot be elected to the U.S. Senate; he is simply too dangerous for Pennsylvania.”
