Washington, D.C. – Wisconsin Democrat Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes joined Charles Blow in a one-on-one interview and was asked a very straightforward question: “How do you feel about the slogan and the idea behind defund the police?” His answer…a garbled word salad.
When given the opportunity to reject the radical Defund the Police movement being pushed by the Left, Barnes whiffed. Hard. He even gave a nod in the direction of defunding the police: “If we make sure people have what they need on the front end, then we won’t even have to have this conversation about where we need a police presence.” The implication is clear.
Why won’t Barnes just come out and admit his support for the radical Left’s Defund the Police agenda?
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “Mandela Barnes knows that defunding the police is not what Wisconsinites want; it’s what the radical Left wants. When given the opportunity to reject this dangerous idea, Barnes refused. The people of Wisconsin see right through Barnes’ garbled word salad and know that he is too liberal to represent them and their families.”
