Washington, D.C. – Mark Kelly sure has a cozy relationship with revisionist history. In a recent interview with Business Insider, he describes the so-called “Kelly Standard:”
Only one problem – the “Kelly Standard” doesn’t seem to apply to its namesake. In reality, Mark Kelly fails to regularly publish his schedule online, breaks his pledge to publish his schedule the “next day,” and uses loopholes to allow hundreds of thousands of dollars in corporate donations to flow into his campaign coffers.
The real “Kelly Standard”? Consistently lying to the people of Arizona and assuming they’re too dumb to notice. Unfortunately for him, the people of Arizona are smarter than Mark Kelly thinks they are.
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey: “Mark Kelly’s self-created standard flies in the face of reality. Kelly breaks his pledge to publish his schedule the next day because he has to airbrush out the fact that he is schmoozing with the very corporate donors he pledged not to take money from. D.C. Darling Mark Kelly spends more time figuring out ways to lie to Arizonans than working for them.”
