She’s been in the race long enough to call in the heavy hitters and try to muscle Joe Sestak out of the primary, but Katie McGinty still refuses to take a position on President Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran. Sestak has come out strongly in favor of the deal, while other Democrats have stood up in opposition to President Obama. So what’s McGinty waiting for? Is she simply hiding her support and playing politics with national security?

“Will Katie McGinty fall in line with President Obama or stand up for Pennsylvanians who are rightfully worried about our national security?” said NRSC spokeswoman Andrea Bozek. “This is a basic question that any serious candidate should answer, but McGinty has been in the race for weeks without saying one word. It’s time for McGinty to come clean about whether she stands with Obama on Iran.”

McGinty has stayed silent even as one fellow Democrat said the deal allows Iran to sponsor terrorism:

“Democrat Rep. Seth Moulton (Mass.) said the Iran nuclear agreement doesn’t prevent Iran from sponsoring terrorism. ‘They have American hostages. They violate human rights on a daily basis,’ Moulton said. ‘And they’re international sponsors of terrorism [and] that’s all possible under the deal.’” (Andrew Kugle, “Dem Supporting Deal Admits It Doesn’t Prevent Iran From Sponsoring Terrorism,” Washington Free Beacon, 8/20/15)
