Washington, D.C. – Joe Biden’s amnesty and open borders agenda has led to an unprecedented border crisis that’s rapidly worsening. In August 2021, 208,887 illegal immigrants crossed the border, a 317% increase from August 2020. Border town officials, including many Democrats, are begging the Biden Administration to secure the border.
But Joe Biden has done the opposite. He turned the U.S. Border Patrol into the “U.S. Welcome Patrol,” halted border wall construction, and refuses to visit the border to witness the crisis he created firsthand. So, it’s no surprise that Biden’s nominee to lead the agency in charge of border security is a radical sanctuary city activist.
Chris Magnus, Tucson police chief and Biden’s pick to be the commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), defended sanctuary city policies after Kate Steinle was tragically murdered by an illegal immigrant. And, in 2017, Magnus wrote he was “deeply troubled” that the previous administration wanted to withhold federal funding for sanctuary cities that don’t follow the law.
Chris Magnus doesn’t believe that U.S. cities need to abide by federal immigration laws. Unfortunately, in the Biden Administration, that qualifies him to lead the agency tasked with enforcing our immigration laws. Does Mark Kelly believe that his fellow Arizonan is qualified to enforce U.S. immigration laws?
