Washington, D.C. – No one would ever accuse failed presidential candidate Michael Bennet of being a leader on big issues. In fact, when it comes to nearly every policy issue, Sen. Bennet just follows the lead of party leaders in Washington.
There is no better example than Afghanistan, and his record of following the Democrat leader, regardless of the circumstances. Here’s a little trip down memory lane:
- In 2009, Bennet supported President Obama’s troop surge in Afghanistan.
- In 2011, Bennet supported President Obama’s planned withdrawal from Afghanistan.
- In 2019, Bennet criticized President Trump’s plan to withdraw forces from Afghanistan.
Since President Biden’s helter-skelter withdrawal from Afghanistan has led to the rapid collapse of the Afghan government and sacking of Kabul, Senator Bennet has gone quiet and offered no critique on this historically bad foreign policy blunder.
It appears Bennet is just like every other Democrat up for re-election – too afraid to take a stand against the leader of his party who’s overseen a disastrous withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.
Michael Bennet’s silence is further proof that he is a puppet of President Biden and Democrats, not a leader for Coloradans.
