Jon Tester made it official today and announced his campaign for reelection, which means it’s a perfect time to remind Montana voters of his far-left record in Washington.
Despite representing a state President Trump carried by 20 points, Tester has failed Montanans by voting against the President 79% of the time. Tester also voted to protect dangerous sanctuary cities, and for the disastrous Schumer Shutdown not once, but twice, making him the only red state Democrat to jeopardize CHIP funding for 44,688 Montana kids. Weeks earlier, Tester voted against the massively successful GOP tax relief plan that’s led to pay raises and bonuses for hardworking Montanans.
As you cover Tester’s announcement, please consider this statement from the NRSC:
“Jon Tester might think he deserves another 6 years in Washington, but it’s clear he no longer shares Montana values,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “By voting against President Trump’s agenda at every step, Tester has proven to Montanans that he is more willing to join Chuck Schumer’s political games than represent folks back home on the issues they care about.”
