The cozy relationship between Obama’s camp and Zopp is even leading to questions of whether Zopp expects the president’s support in what is certain to be a messy primary.

Meanwhile, as a bipartisan coalition emerges in opposition to President Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran, Tammy Duckworth continues to evade the subject.

Duckworth’s latest attempt to evade questions on her position resulted in throwing Chuck Schumer under the bus. As WJBC-AM reports, "Duckworth said Kirk is rushing to judgment on the proposal."

Wonder if Duckworth thinks Senator Chuck Schumer rushed to judgement by opposing President Obama’s deal with Iran?

BACKGROUND:

Andrea Zopp Supports President Obama’s Deal With Iran. “After a great deal of reading and much study I stand with President Obama and many political and religious leaders, and national security experts from the United States and abroad, in support of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the agreement forged between the United States, our P5+1 partners and Iran to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.” (“Andrea Zopp supports President Obama’s plan to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon,” Andrea Zopp For Senate, 8/13/15)

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Called The Deal “Very Bad.” “My friends, for over a year, we’ve been told that no deal is better than a bad deal. Well, this is a bad deal. It’s a very bad deal. We’re better off without it.” (“The complete transcript of Netanyahu’s address to Congress,” The Washington Post, 3/3/15)

Zopp Has The Backing Of Former Obama White House Chief Of Staff William Daley. Sneed also hears former White House chief of staff William Daley, the brother and son of former Chicago mayors — and others — have talked to the uber-credentialed Zopp about being a potential candidate against GOP U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk. (Michael Sneed, “Urban League CEO Andrea Zopp urged to run for Kirk’s Seat,” Chicago Sun-Times, 3/31/15)

Many Of Zopp’s Supporters Were Also Obama Supporters. So many of your contributors were supporters of President Obama—Cheryl Whitaker, Susan Sher, Bettylu Saltzman. Do you expect Obama’s support too? (Carol Felsenthal, “Why Andrea Zopp is Running an Uphill Battle for U.S. Senate,” Chicago Magazine, 8/14/15)

Senator Schumer on Iran Deal: "I will vote to disapprove the agreement, not because I believe war is a viable or desirable option, nor to challenge the path of diplomacy. It is because I believe Iran will not change, and under this agreement it will be able to achieve its dual goals of eliminating sanctions while ultimately retaining its nuclear and non-nuclear power. Better to keep U.S. sanctions in place, strengthen them, enforce secondary sanctions on other nations, and pursue the hard-trodden path of diplomacy once more, difficult as it may be. For all of these reasons, I believe the vote to disapprove is the right one." (My Position on the Iran Deal, Chuck Schumer, 8/7/15)
