Fresh off his false, partisan smear campaign of Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson, Senator Tester has now run to far-left icons like Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren to rescue his failing campaign. This morning, Elizabeth Warren sent a fundraising email asking her donors to pony up and send Tester some cash (see full email here).
Sen. Tester choosing to align himself with extremists like Senator Warren may seem like a strange campaign tactic for a Democrat running for re-election in a state Trump won by 20 points, but after Senator Tester essentially nuked his own re-election strategy this week, it might be the only play he has left.
Remember: until Trump asked Senator Tester to resign, he was running ads cozying up to Trump. But now, all he has left are the out-of-touch liberals like Elizabeth Warren that he votes with 86% of the time anyway.
“Senator Tester’s decision to spread lies about Rear Admiral Jackson to obstruct President Trump may play well in Massachusetts with left-wing extremists like Senator Warren, but in Montana, voters have grown tired of his partisan games,” said NRSC Spokesman Calvin Moore. “Montana voters will hold Tester accountable for siding with out-of-touch liberals like Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer over Montana families in November.”
