The DSCC’s failure to recruit a preferred candidate in Pennsylvania to run against Congressman Joe Sestak has been well-documented during the past few months.
First, they sought out scandal-plagued Attorney General Kathleen Kane, and then they failed to recruit Montgomery County Commissioner Josh Shapiro.
Now, as they seek to recruit the Governor’s Chief of Staff, it’s been revealed by the Philadelphia Inquirer that apparently we’ve been unaware of another one of their recruiting failures all along – Philadelphia Democratic Chairman Bob Brady.
As the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jonathan Tamari reports, not only did the DSCC ask Brady to run three times, but they also ran a poll for him as well during their failed recruitment efforts:
“But Brady confirmed that McGinty has spoken to national Democrats about a potential campaign in the race to unseat Sen. Pat Toomey (R., Pa.). He said officials at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee had even asked him to run – checking his interest on three separate occasions and even running a poll on his name ID – but that he turned them down. “No means no,” Brady said.”
Add another recruiting failure to the list for the DSCC…
