The NRSC’s Daily Reminder on Tim Ryan’s Radical Agenda
Washington, D.C. — Tim Ryan isn’t the moderate politician he claims to be. His record clearly shows that he is a radical liberal Democrat who will always side with the far Left in Washington over Ohioans.
Today’s Ryan reminder is that he is soft on crime.
- Despite claiming to be “completely against” defunding the police, Ryan voted against a motion to recommit to condemn calls to “defund,” “disband,” “dismantle,” or “abolish” the police.
- Ryan has repeatedly voted against or missed votes on bills that would crack down on synthetic narcotics such as fentanyl, including increased funding for the International Narcotics Control & Law Enforcement Division, a ban on fentanyl, and increased funding for the DEA to combat fentanyl trafficking.
- In 2022, Ryan claimed he was sick of watching those responsible for the opioid crisis get let off the hook, but he has voted against multiple bills designed to combat the epidemic.
- Ryan voted for the George Floyd Justice In Policing Act, which sought to end qualified immunity –a move the Fraternal Order of Police argued was anti-police and would make it so no one would want to be an officer.
- In the state senate, Ryan voted against expanding the sex offender registry and mandatory sentencing for drug offenders.
In 2020, Ohio saw a spike in crime rates, including violent crime in Cleveland and the murder rate in Columbus. The state saw its highest murder rate in 30 years. Ohioans need someone who will fight to keep their communities safe, but Tim Ryan votes with Biden 100% of the time. Unless Chuck Schumer and Washington Democrats vote to help lower crime rates in Ohio, Tim Ryan will continue to be soft on crime. Watch below:
