Washington, D.C. – Yesterday’s Iowa primary was a swing and a miss for Schumer’s handpicked candidate, failed Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer. This shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise considering Finkenauer barely made it on the ballot in the first place.
So who are Iowa Democrats left with? Mike Franken, who endorsed Joe Biden (and his –24 approval rating in Iowa), applauded Biden’s decision to halt the Keystone XL Pipeline, which contributed to skyrocketing gas prices, and supports Washington Democrats’ multi-trillion dollar tax and spending spree that would raise taxes on the middle-class and Iowa job creators.
In other words, someone who can’t win in Iowa.
Like the NRSC has been saying, Biden and Schumer are the Republican Party’s best surrogates for 2022. Anything and everything Biden and Schumer touch turns to dust, and that is exactly what we will see happen in Iowa in November with a candidate who’s fully embraced Biden and Schumer’s failed agenda.
