Chuck Schumer’s super PAC, Senate Majority PAC, launched a deceiving new ad over the weekend attempting to claim that Heidi Heitkamp supported middle-class tax cuts. But the record could not be clearer: Heitkamp voted against President Trump’s tax cuts that are saving middle-class families and small businesses money.
Not only did Heitkamp oppose the law that has led hundreds of companies to dole out bonuses, increased North Dakotans’ paychecks (including Heitkamp’s own staff) and created new job opportunities, but she had the audacity to wrongly claim the bill would hurt North Dakotans. Meanwhile, North Dakotans will see the largest average tax reduction in the nation. No matter how Heitkamp and her liberal allies try to spin her disastrous vote, they can’t explain away the reality that when North Dakotans needed tax cuts, she turned her back on them.
“Heidi Heitkamp’s record makes it clear that North Dakotans can’t count on her to support their interests,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Instead of voting to cut folks’ taxes, Heitkamp sided with Chuck Schumer and is now relying on his super PAC to come to her rescue and distort reality.”
