Washington, D.C. – Today Senate Democrats voted unanimously against Senator John Barrasso’s measure to reduce gas prices with onshore domestic energy production.
With gas prices skyrocketing, Republicans are fighting for ways – like onshore domestic energy production – to lower costs at the pump for families.
This isn’t the first time Democrats have voted against domestic energy production. Last year, Joe Biden and the Democrats killed the Keystone XL Pipeline, taking thousands of jobs and American energy independence along with it. And Senate Democrats voted multiple times against restarting the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman Juan Arias: “Biden and Senate Democrats halted the Keystone XL Pipeline that killed American jobs and our energy independence. Now gas prices are soaring, squeezing American families’ budgets. But Democrats clearly don’t care about lowering the price of gas. If they did, they would have voted to restore our energy independence.”
