Washington, D.C. – Vulnerable Senate Democrats are desperately trying to spin their record on the border crisis they created. Saying they’re “concerned” about lifting Title 42 and that they’re working to “fix our broken immigration system by strengthening our border security.” Do they really think Americans are going to believe those outrageous lies?
Here’s a brief timeline of Senate Democrats’ amnesty and open borders record:
- March 2021: Senate Democrats vote to fund sanctuary cities.
- March 2021: Senate Democrats vote to send stimulus checks to illegal immigrants.
- May 2021: Senate Democrats vote against Sen. Ron Johnson’s amendment to force Biden to continue border wall construction.
- July 2021: CBP announces that 210,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended at the Southern Border, the highest one-month total in 20 years.
- July 2021: Senate Democrats announce that they support amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants.
- August 2021: Senate Democrats once again vote against an amendment from Sen. Ron Johnson that would force Biden to continue wall construction.
- August 2021: Senate Democrats vote to END Title 42.
- October 2021: Democrat Senators continue to deny that there is a crisis at the Southern Border.
- December 2021: Senate Democrats vote to confirm a border crisis denier to lead CBP.
- April 2022: Illegal border crossing hit the highest one-month total in U.S. history.
As you can see from the timeline, Biden’s border crisis has been around for well over a year. But that didn’t stop Senate Democrats from voting to end Title 42 one month after 210,000 illegal immigrants crossed the border.
They clearly didn’t support common-sense border security measures last year. But now all of a sudden, Senate Democrats are staging photo ops at the border wall. What changed?
Statement from NRSC Spokesman Jonathan Turcotte: “Senate Democrats like Mark Kelly, Maggie Hassan, Catherine Cortez Masto, Michael Bennet and Raphael Warnock voted to end Title 42 less than a year ago. Their about-face is purely political and it’s an insult to voters. It’s sad that vulnerable Senate Democrats think voters are dumb enough to believe their lies. Their actions speak much louder than their phony election year words.”
