In a scathing editorial, the Bowling Green Daily News joins The Columbus Dispatch in absolutely roasting Retread Ted for his shameful decision to celebrate Justice Scalia’s death. We couldn’t have put it any better:

"They are the words of a classless individual who is getting beat by 6 points in the polls and will obviously say anything to get elected."

In case you missed it, listen to the disturbing audio here and read more from the Bowling Green Daily News below.

No politician or civilian should ever make a comment that it is a good thing that someone has died.

There is no place in our society for this kind out-of-bounds rhetoric.
But, unfortunately, some people simply have no shame.

Former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland apparently didn’t think that there was anything wrong about talking about someone passing away “at a good time” in a recent speech.

Strickland, a Democrat who is running against incumbent U.S. Sen Robert Portman, R-Ohio, said Aug. 8 while speaking before the AFL-CIO in Cleveland that Supreme Court Justice’s Antonin Scalia’s death came “at a good time” for union workers since he was unable to cast the deciding vote in a 4-4 case involving unions.

These comments are not only out of bounds, they are very hurtful to the Scalia family and countless people who were very close to the longtime justice.

It is quite clear that Strickland has no class and many of the members in the audience at the event have no class.

One can disagree with a Supreme Court justice over his or her rulings, but to say that his death came “at a good time” shows a candidate who has no respect for the dead.

Strickland later tried to backpeddle from his statements during the event, saying that he doesn’t wish “anyone ill” and later apologizing, saying “That was an insensitive remark and I do apologize,” but the damage was done.
Strickland had showed his true colors.

This former governor thinks these are the words befitting of someone who wants to be a member of the U.S. Senate.

They are the words of a classless individual who is getting beat by 6 points in the polls and will obviously say anything to get elected.

Shame on him.
