“Retread” Ted Strickland, despite his best effort, will sit down with his primary opponent P.G. Sittenfeld for the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s editorial endorsement joint interview TODAY.

This is the only joint-appearance Retread Ted has agreed to.

With Retread Ted’s tendency to avoid the campaign trail, there’s no shortage of questions that remain unanswered, but here are a few that he’s been dodging just like he’s been dodging debates:

  • Your primary opponent has criss-crossed the state meeting voters, attended local events, participated in press interviews, and is willing to debate — all while you have been absent from the campaign trail. What have you done to earn the editorial board endorsement and the trust of voters?

  • Why have you ignored countless calls from voters, editorial boards, and Party leadership to debate your primary opponent?

  • If you are the “establishment” candidate, why are countless members of your Party like former Governor Dick Celeste and former State House Majority Leader Tracy Maxwell Heard endorsing your opponent?

  • What is your position, today, on gun control? You’ve recently used the tragic Sandy Hook shooting to justify flip-flopping, but in a recent radio interview you referred to your previous position? Which is it?

  • A Cleveland.com story recently reported that you ‘waffled’ on whether you would support an anti-abortion Supreme Court nominee. This is another issue you’ve flip-flopped on in your political career – would you support an anti-abortion nominee?

  • Why did your fundraiser quit, and is that why you are underperforming your own fundraising goals? Are you worried about having the funds to compete in the primary and if you make it to the general election?

  • While you were Governor, Ohio lost more than 350,000 jobs, many to other states, and unemployment spiked to above 10 percent. What about your tenure as Governor warrants your election to the Senate?

  • Why do you want to go back to DC? In your own words, you already achieved your “dream job” in Washington.
