Following the bitter infighting among Ohio Democrats over retread Ted Strickland’s candidacy, the Cincinnati Business Courier reports more devastating news for the failed governor as P.G. Sittenfeld now has his very own super PAC:
Supporters of Cincinnati City Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld’s U.S. Senate campaign have set up a super PAC to back the Democrat, which will allow them to collect donations in unlimited amounts and could close the likely financial advantage his Democratic opponent, former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, will have over him as the March primary approaches…“We’re determined to raise enough money to have an impact on the race statewide,” [New Leadership for Ohio Chair Paul] DeMarco said.
FLASHBACK:
Earlier this month, Northeast Ohio Media Group reported that Sittenfeld adviser Jerry Austin also started a super PAC:
Gerald Austin, a long-time Democratic strategist and consultant in Ohio, filed paperwork Friday to establish a campaign fund eligible to raise and spend unlimited sums of money…"It’s a super PAC," he said when asked about the group’s registration, filed late Friday at the Federal Election Commission. "We’re in the process of raising money in hope of helping progressive candidates in 2016."
One can only wonder which Strickland failure will be highlighted in the first attack ad.
From retread Ted’s abysmal record as governor to his "bobbing" and "weaving" on the issues, Sittenfeld and his super PACs have many to choose from.
