Washington, D.C. – Chuck Schumer is truly doing all he can to shield himself from a primary battle against Socialist AOC in 2022. The latest? Schumer is moving forward with a vote on the Corrupt Politicians Act (H.R.1 / S.1) this week even though he – and everybody in Washington – knows it is doomed to fail – much to the chagrin of the far-Left socialist Democrat base.
Chuck Schumer and vulnerable Senate Democrats like Maggie Hassan, Catherine Cortez Masto, Raphael Warnock, Mark Kelly, and Michael Bennet are so terrified of upsetting their socialist base that they are more than happy to let West Virginia’s Joe Manchin take the heat for opposing the Senate Democrats’ radical takeover of elections through the Corrupt Politicians Act. In fact, Politico reported recently that Senate Democrats do not even want to pass their “deeply flawed” bill and are grateful to have Joe Manchin leading the opposition because they are “too scared to speak out against the bill.”
Instead of hiding behind their colleagues, Maggie Hassan, Mark Kelly, Raphael Warnock, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Michael Benent owe it to voters in their states to speak out against this wildly unpopular and corrupt legislation. Will they support the Corrupt Politicians Act – and let Joe Manchin take the heat – or will they find the courage to oppose this legislation that even Democrats know “never had a chance”?
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey: “Today’s Senate Democrats have a unique talent for embodying never-before-seen ‘Profiles in Cowardice.’ Every single Democrat is fully aware of the disaster that is the Corrupt Politicians Act, yet they are content to bite their tongues because they are ‘too scared’ to defy the far-Left, radical base. If Senators like Mark Kelly, Maggie Hassan, Raphael Warnock, Michael Bennet, and Catherine Cortez Masto really wanted to be leaders, they would call out their own party’s efforts to ban Voter ID and force taxpayers to fund their own campaigns instead of letting Joe Manchin take the blame.”
