Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, U.S. Senate candidate Tim Ryan demanded that “we must get rid of the Senate filibuster,” a complete flip-flop from his previous stance.

That is the sound of someone caving to the radical Left if we’ve ever heard one. Just last year he was singing a different tune. Let’s take a look at Tim Ryan’s history with the filibuster…

In 2020, Ryan Advocated For Using The Filibuster To Delay The Nomination Of Justice Amy Coney Barrett. (Tim Ryan, Twitter, 9/22/20)

During His Presidential Run Ryan Told The Washington Post That He “Does Not Support Eliminating The Filibuster.” “Ryan is no longer running for president. Ryan does not support eliminating the filibuster, he told The Post.” (“Should Democrats Eliminate The Senate Filibuster The Next Time They Control The Chamber?,” The Washington Post, Accessed 6/24/21)

In 2015, Ryan Described The Filibuster As “The Firewall” Against A Republican Majority In The Senate. SCHULTZ: “So gentlemen — Congressman Ryan, we’re talking about the President holding the line here, because you guys in the minority, the only thing you have right now is a filibuster over in the Senate side. What else is going to stop what Congressman DeFazio just described?” RYAN: “Well I think that’s the firewall…” (MSNBC’s “The Ed Show,” 1/12/15)

Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “Now that Tim Ryan is looking for a promotion, he is cowering to the radical Left thinking it will appease his party leaders in Washington. Not only do Ohioans disagree with this blatant power grab that will undermine the checks and balances of American democracy, but they do not need or want a leader who simply cozies up to Schumer and Pelosi. If Ryan continues to trend leftward, he will be in for a rude awakening in 2022.”
