One day after the State Department confirmed that Barack Obama lied about his $400 million cash payment to the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, Retread Ted not only reaffirmed his support for the Iran deal – he also refused to condemn the ransom:

QUESTION: Governor, the chatter this morning all has to do with Iran and the deal that happened there. Can you clarify what was your position on that and this payment, I mean to the average person it sounds like ransom. How do you react to that?

STRICKLAND: Well, I certainly support it – the arrangement that was made to keep Iran from getting nuclear weapons without going to war. I think that was the correct approach to take diplomac [sic] – diplomac [sic], over military action. In terms of the controversy regarding the accusations regarding money for hostages, I think there’s a lot that needs to be brought forth about that. You know there are accusations – both sides are saying different things and I think we need to find out exactly what happened and I’m going to do that before I make any kind of definitive statement about what happened.

QUESTION: It looks bad though doesn’t it? I mean just the average person on the street, doesn’t that look bad? Shouldn’t more of that information have been forthcoming already?

STRICKLAND: Well, just let me say that we shouldn’t make decisions based upon perception. We should make decisions based upon facts and I know the president has spoken to this earlier. I heard what he said earlier and I looking forward to see what he says in response to the most recent accusations.

In Retread Ted’s world, apparently an admission from the State Department that the ransom "was contingent on the release of a group of American prisoners" doesn’t count as a fact.

As he defies the will of Ohio voters by recklessly supporting President Obama’s Iran deal – a new low in light of yesterday’s news, can Retread Ted guarantee that the ransom payment he refuses to condemn won’t fund terrorism?
