Washington, D.C. – The more people learn about Senate Democrats’ radical agenda, the more unpopular it becomes. Americans are souring on Joe Biden’s inflation-inducing spending plans as well as Democrats’ top legislative priority – the Corrupt Politicians Act. One of the pillars of the Democrats’ political power grab is banning state-level voter ID requirements. According to Democrats, Americans need to present an ID to rent a car but not to vote.
Senate Democrats like Raphael Warnock and their far-Left allies slowly started distancing themselves from their previous support of banning voter ID requirements. This new poll from Politico and Morning Consult might explain why. It found that 81% of voters believe that an ID must be presented in order to vote, including 72% of Democrats and 77% of Independents.
But this widespread support for voter ID requirements is not new to us at the NRSC. In a poll we released earlier this year, 77% of voters said they are supportive of voter ID requirements. Clearly, the support for voter ID requirements only grew stronger as Americans learned more about the details of the Corrupt Politicians Act.
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey: “It’s not just the heat making Democrats sweat. Poll after poll continues to show that voters reject their radical agenda, strongly opposing a major pillar of their top legislative priority. With clear bipartisan opposition to banning voter ID requirements, it’s past time for Joe Biden and Senate Democrats to drop their ridiculous, partisan power grab and get to work for the American people.”
