Washington, D.C. –Democrats are arguing again, this time about how big of a tax cut to give millionaires and billionaires in high-tax blue states.

House Democrats – like Val Demings, Conor Lamb, and Tim Ryan – supported a repeal of the cap on SALT (state and local tax) deductions, causing even some fellow Democrats to speak out.

In fact, devout liberals like potential 2022 Chuck Schumer challenger, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, and Senator Bernie Sanders have forcefully spoken out against the SALT cap repeal.  Vulnerable Democrats like Senators Maggie Hassan, Raphael Warnock, Mark Kelly, and Catherine Cortez Masto have been silent, however. We guess their silence is tacit approval of the massive tax cut for the wealthy passed by House Democrats.

Could it be that they are afraid of alienating their donors who may see a tax hike on their vacation homes?  Tonight, Catherine Cortez Masto will hold a fundraiser in one of the wealthiest towns in New England, Brookline, MA. Good thing the wealthy in Massachusetts are expecting a windfall from Democrat-run Washington, so they can afford to shell out cash to one of the Democrats’ most vulnerable members.

Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “The Democrats continue to outdo themselves and show the country just how out of touch they really are. As Americans struggle with rising costs and supply shortages during the holiday season, Democrats are bickering over how big of a tax cut to give millionaires and billionaires in blue states. Their indifference toward the struggles of working Americans, and the role they are playing in making them worse, is shocking but unsurprising.”
