Washington, D.C. – When vulnerable Senate Democrats like Raphael Warnock, Mark Kelly, Maggie Hassan, Catherine Cortez Masto, Michael Bennet, and Patty Murray lose in November, one of the main reasons will be that they are bad at their job. There is no better example than the current reconciliation bill negotiations.

In an evenly divided Senate, each one of these Democrats had the ability to hold up the bill until it was improved. When massive new spending is proposed in a recession, it’s the least they could have done.

  • They could have fought for tax cuts.
  • They could have fought for spending cuts.
  • They could have fought for border security measures (looking at you, MAGA Maggie).
  • They could have fought for law enforcement.
  • They could have fought for more provisions for their state.

They did none of it. Why? Because Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer didn’t want them to.

Each one of these ineffectual Senators once again got taken for a ride by being nothing more than a rubber stamp for Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer. Their constituents deserve better.

Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “In November, the Senate map will be filled with do-nothing Senators who fight for Joe Biden more than they fight for their home states: Warnock, Kelly, Hassan, Cortez Masto, Bennet, and Murray.  Each gets pushed around on a daily basis by Biden and Schumer, and they never offer any resistance. They are content to be a rubber stamp for a liberal agenda, and it’ll cost them come November.”
