Motor City is reporting eye-popping market gains thanks to the GOP tax cuts Debbie Stabenow and her Democrat colleagues voted against.

General Motors and Fiat Chrysler both reported unusually high increases in sales, which is a much-needed lift to the auto industry. Compared to March of 2017, GM and Fiat Chrysler’s sales grew by 16 and 14 percent respectively. GM’s chief economist cited tax reform for the success, saying, “The job market is strong, consumer confidence is at decade-high levels and we see clear evidence that business owners are taking advantage of tax reform to upgrade their fleets.”

Michigan’s largest industry has benefitted as a direct impact of the tax bill Debbie Stabenow voted against. Now that auto sales are skyrocketing, will she finally admit she was wrong to vote against tax relief?

“The success of GM, Fiat Chrysler and others in the auto industry is a direct testimony to the benefits of the tax cuts Debbie Stabenow opposed,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “Michigan voters are going to remember that Stabenow stood with her party bosses instead of autoworkers and consumers when she voted against GOP tax relief.”
