Washington, D.C. – Today, the National Border Patrol Council announced their endorsement of Herschel Walker. It’s not hard to understand why.
Senator Raphael Warnock’s record on border security has been awful. He’s voted against amendments to force President Biden to restart border wall construction and voted to confirm a border crisis denier to run Customs and Border Patrol (CBP).
Perhaps more inexcusable, however, is his March 2021 vote against a bill that would direct $300 million for anti-narcotic and -opioid activities carried out by CBP.
Crime is raging across the country, especially in Atlanta, and much of it is fueled by the drug trade and the stream of narcotics that come through the Southern Border. To vote against additional resources for CBP to stop these drugs defies logic and demands an explanation.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Raphael Warnock’s voting record is one of a Senator who is unwilling to stand with law enforcement, especially those patrolling our southern border. It’s impossible to justify as his home of Atlanta continues to suffer through a major spike in crime that is partly fueled by border drug trafficking. Law enforcement and border patrol officials are lining up behind Herschel Walker because they know he will give them the support they need to crack down on drugs and criminals to make our communities safer.”
