By all accounts, Phil Bredesen is still planning to embark on a long-shot campaign for U.S. Senate, but he certainly isn’t acting like it.
Bredesen’s been silent on the issues important to voters, so far, refusing to let Tennesseans know where he stands on the GOP tax cuts. And now that Senate Democrats led by Chuck Schumer, who personally recruited Bredesen to run, have shut the government down and in the process denied funding for our troops, children’s health care and vital government services. Voters deserve to know what Bredesen thinks about his good friend Shutdown Schumer’s reckless actions.
“Phil Bredesen’s silence on the issues Tennessee voters care about shows how unprepared he is to serve them in the U.S. Senate,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Bredesen needs to let Tennesseans know if he agrees with the political games Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats are playing with our national security and children’s health care.”
