Washington, D.C. – This week, a Democrat candidate for Virginia delegate publicly rejected the endorsement of an organization called NARAL Pro-Choice America. NARAL is a radical pro-abortion group which, like Planned Parenthood and others, have expanded their political involvement to other issues including defunding the police. It was NARAL’s attacks on law enforcement that led to the rejection of their endorsement.
NARAL Pro-Choice America has also endorsed Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, an endorsement she gladly accepted. It is no surprise that Cortez Masto is a liberal and supports abortion rights without restrictions, but how can she stand with an organization that is committed to defunding our police forces and making communities less safe?
Senator Cortez Masto should reject the NARAL endorsement and stand with Nevada’s law enforcement officers.
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey: “NARAL is a radical group far outside the mainstream of Nevada voters – expanding their activism to support defunding the police. While some candidates for office have had the courage to reject their endorsement, Catherine Cortez Masto has not. In fact, she’s embraced it. By standing with NARAL and anti-law enforcement radicals, Cortez Masto is standing against Nevadans. She should finally reject their endorsement.”
