As confirmation hearings begin this week, Amy Klobuchar, as a member of the Judiciary Committee, will play a role in the confirmation of Attorney General nominee Sen. Jeff Sessions.
The left wing of Klobuchar’s party has already signaled that they will attempt to derail Sessions’ nomination to lead the Justice Department, with Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown already vowing to oppose confirmation, even before hearings begin. Klobuchar must choose whether to join the extreme left’s strategy of obstruction, or whether to honor the results of our election and allow President-elect Trump to choose his own cabinet.
“Amy Klobuchar must decide whether she will join members of the extreme left in blind opposition to Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions or reject the obstructionism of her fellow Senate liberals,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “If Klobuchar chooses to obstruct President-elect Trump’s cabinet picks, she will prove that she is more concerned about her standing with the left than with honoring the choices of the American people.”
