Today’s a big day for Heidi Heitkamp, as it’s National High Five Day! Heitkamp, of course, gained national attention after she celebrated voting against banning late-term abortions by high fiving Chuck Schumer, which earned her the nickname High Five Heidi.
High Five Heidi’s sickening vote on the 5-month abortion ban wasn’t the only time she’s chosen to stand with Washington Democrats instead of doing what’s best for North Dakotans. Heitkamp has made a habit of voting no on the issues most important to voters at home. Heitkamp voted no on tax cuts for the middle-class, she opposed cracking down on sanctuary cities, she’s repeatedly supported Obamacare, and she was the deciding vote to keep the harmful BLM methane rule in place.
So, if you see High Five Heidi today, give her a high five because it’s the last time she’ll enjoy National High Five Day as a U.S. Senator!
“North Dakota voters will be the ones high fiving each other this November after they send High Five Heidi and her liberal record into an early retirement,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “During her time as Senator, Heitkamp has repeatedly supported Washington Democrats instead of folks at home, and that is nothing she should celebrate.”
