Report: Becerra Doesn’t Need Congress to Implement Socialist Medicare for All Scheme
Washington, D.C. – Xavier Becerra’s introduction yesterday to the Senate HELP Committee was nothing short of “contentious.” Throughout the hearing, Becerra was forced to defend his socialist policy agenda: Medicare for All, abortion on demand, and free taxpayer-funded health care for illegal immigrants.
Among the most troubling policies for vulnerable Senator Maggie Hassan is Becerra’s quest to transform American health care into Medicare for All, which would strip private health insurance away from millions and kill thousands of jobs. The New York Times reported that if confirmed, Becerra could single-handedly establish Medicare for All. That’s right, if Maggie Hassan votes to confirm Xavier Becerra, she is laying the foundation for him to implement his Medicare for All plan.
“Xavier Becerra has long supported moving the United States to a ‘Medicare for all’ system. As President-elect Joe Biden’s pick to run Health and Human Services, he may have opportunities to speed up such a transition.
“The Health and Human Services secretary oversees an array of waivers that states can use to cover new groups or provide different types of health plans. Because these waivers do not require congressional approval, they could become a crucial policymaking tool for the Biden administration…”
