Unfortunately, what should be a time for tremendous joy has become a time for tremendous concern. Just last week, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei expressed his hope that Israel will not exist in 25 years:
God willing, there will be no Zionist regime in 25 years.
It is shameful that the very next day, Senator Michael Bennet decided that the American people do not deserve a vote on President Obama’s Iran deal.
Even Iran’s tyrant ordered a vote on this deal in Parliament.
Will Michael Bennet again deprive the American people of a vote on this most pressing matter of national security in the United States Senate?
If only Bennet was nearly as concerned about the "democratic, up-or-down vote" on the danger posed by negotiations with the leading state sponsor of terrorism as he was on the public option:
…The quiet threat of a filibuster effectively holds the public option hostage. Through the filibuster, Senators can delay debate on the public option indefinitely, preventing the Senate from ever holding a democratic, up-or-down vote on the issue…Even if you oppose a public option, we urge you not to hold it hostage with the threat of the filibuster. Stand up for the people…and give the public option the up-or-down vote it deserves.
