Washington, D.C. – It’s socialists and Bernie Sanders versus so-called moderate Democrats when it comes to passing a $3.5 trillion socialist spending spree. Democrats are certainly in disarray as Bernie Sanders fills his spending spree with his radical priorities as the White House plays “whack-a-mole among jittery Democrats” who are not fully on board with this far-Left, tax-and-spend agenda. It seems that the only agreement between the two factions is that $3.5 trillion must be spent, come hell or high-water. Or is it?
As inflation reaches record highs, some moderate Democrats are bravely stepping forward to caution against Bernie’s plan for job-killing tax hikes and out-of-control spending. As one such Democrat told Punchbowl News:
On the other hand, Bernie and the “Squad” say $3.5 trillion is not enough and simply see this bill as a “down payment” on trillions more in socialist spending. Some progressives are even threatening to withhold their support for the legislation, telling CNN that “many in the Squad and Squad-adjacent will vote no” because it does not include enough of their far-Left priorities.
The battle between Bernie Sanders and so-called Democrat moderates is bad news for Senators like Mark Kelly, Maggie Hassan, Catherine Cortez Masto, Raphael Warnock, and Michael Bennet who are doing everything they can to hide their true support for this Socialist Spending Plan. At the end of the day, these Democrat Senators will all fall right in line with their radical leaders by voting to endorse this “down payment” on socialism.
