Washington, D.C. – Mark Kelly’s votes to weaken border security are coming back to haunt him as border officials gear up for a worsening border crisis he and Joe Biden created.

Illegal border crossings reached a new high last month, but that is not even the tip of the iceberg. According to a new CNN report, border officials are bracing for yet another “record-breaking surge” because of the Biden-Kelly open borders agenda:

“Another record-breaking surge of migrants may attempt to cross the US-Mexico border this spring, alarming officials who are now rushing to build more facilities and lining up prison buses to help accommodate the new arrivals.

“The head of the US Border Patrol says he’s getting ready for as many as 8,000 people to be apprehended daily, more than double the daily number of the 2019 surge under the Trump administration.

“That staggering number ‘will probably become the norm over the next 30 to 45 days,’ Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz told CNN in an exclusive interview. There have already been 940,000 arrests this fiscal year, which started in October.”

Mark Kelly likes to claim he’s working to secure the Southern Border, but that cannot be farther from the truth. Since taking office, Kelly has:

  • Funded sanctuary cities
  • Sent taxpayer-funded stimulus checks to illegal immigrants
  • Defunded efforts to secure the Southern Border
  • Voted against prioritizing the arrest of illegal immigrants charged with violent crimes
  • Voted against the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy
  • Had staffers transport illegal migrants across Arizona

Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey: “On Day 1 of Biden’s presidency, Mark Kelly rolled out the welcome mat for this border crisis, and he hasn’t stopped paving the way for it ever since.”
