Last night, far-left allies of Tammy Baldwin attempted to smear Eric Hovde for his foundation’s efforts to rescue and support victims of human trafficking in Central America.

Heartland Signal, a known liberal outlet, attempted to twist Hovde’s words from his announcement speech by claiming he owns three homes in Central America. In reality, Hovde was referencing “Hovde Homes,” owned by the Hovde Foundation, which provide “shelter, supportive services, and love” to vulnerable children around the world – including those who have been trafficked.

Heartland Signal’s misleading post on X received a correction via Community Notes. Tammy Baldwin’s campaign has issued no response despite her allies amplifying the original post.

NRSC Statement: “Tammy Baldwin and her allies were quick to weaponize the far-left misinformation machine against Eric Hovde over his foundation’s work to support victims of human trafficking. Clearly Democrats are terrified to run against a conservative outsider and successful businessman like Eric Hovde.” – NRSC Spokesman Tate Mitchell
