Today Sherrod Brown voted in favor of DC’s radical anti-policing law.
As gun violence, homicides, and car-jackings in D.C. surge to record highs, Democrats’ radical law “would strip officials of discretion to block the public release of sensitive body-camera footage, undermine consent-based searches as a legitimate and constitutional investigatory tool, and ban the use of time-tested crowd control interventions.”
During the summer of 2020, Sherrod Brown praised the “Defund the Police” movement, saying police reinforce institutionalized racism and called to redirect funds from police to social workers.
