A damning new CNN report revealed that, while Colin Allred now claims he “stood up to Joe Biden on the border,” as recently as 2022 he wrote off concerns about immigration as a “right wing echo chamber” that he “[doesn’t] hear a lot about” in Texas.
CNN’s report also found that Allred castigated President Trump’s border wall for years—calling a border wall “racist,” “ineffective,” and a “failed policy.”
The report comes as new polling from the University of Texas/Texas Politics Projectshows Allred trailing Cruz by 11 points with Texas voters overwhelmingly ranking immigration and border security as their top concerns.
